Samba na Gamboa

Art Direction & Motion Design

I had the opportunity to work on Samba na Gamboa, a project strongly rooted in Black representation and Brazilian cultural identity. The show explores the history of bohemian Rio de Janeiro through music and is hosted by Teresa Cristina, one of the most iconic voices of samba in Rio.

I was responsible for the art direction and motion design of the opening sequence, developed in collaboration with the show’s creative team. The visual concept takes the viewer on a journey through classic scenery and symbolic elements of old Rio de Janeiro, helping to contextualize the origins and cultural importance of samba in the city.

This project combines motion design, visual storytelling and cultural research, reinforcing my experience in creating opening sequences that translate history, music and identity into compelling visuals.
